A.V.R.O. 1938 by Dr. Arthur S. Antler

A.V.R.O. 1938 is a very thorough overview of a significant tournament from the past that had a major impact on who would get the opportunity to challenge Alexander Alekhine for the World Championship title. The book starts by introducing the players, and then moves on with a full overview of the games from the tournament, with quite decent commentary. Anybody can enjoy the notes off-the-board, and the game annotations seem best suited for players with a USCF rating above 1500, though any lover of chess history can surely appreciate the games regardless.

The book is in wonderful, close to new condition, with very minimal signs of age. An excellent copy for any collector.
